Fulia/Phulia, a township in Santipur Community Development Block, has developed through the establishment of handloom cooperatives and is expected to become a significant weaving hub in the future. The area is a major migration hub, with a chain of migration from various districts operating. Despite the presence of many cooperatives, some are closed or not functioning properly. Export promotion is crucial for the handloom industry, but government support is essential for development. The revival process involves research, design, innovative workshops, storage, trading, marketing, accommodation, and awareness of traditional craftsmanship.
